INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch mechanism. Remove and discard the single winch mechanism mounting bolt. NOTE: The spare tire must be supported or removed from the winch cable before the mounting bolt is removed. |
STEP TWO Using the provided 10mm x 50mm hex head bolt and aluminum spacer to attach the U-bracket to the mounting flange of the winch mechanism. Position the U-bracket as shown in picture at right and tighten mounting bolt. |
STEP THREE Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with grooved end facing toward the winch mechanism, as shown above. Place the clip-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers. |
STEP FOUR
Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of the lock bar down through the lug hole least obstructed by the mounting plate attached to the winch cable in the center of the wheel, as shown in picture above.
STEP FIVE> The PVC lock bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock firmly against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with the PVC cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock mechanism with the lock bar groove. |
