INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch mechanism. Locate the vertical slots on both sides of the winch mechanism. The U-bracket can be installed using the slot on either side of the winch mechanism. Use the small opening at the top of the slot to insert the 5/16" carriage head bolt, as shown at left.
STEP TWO Use the provided washer and locknut to attach the U-bracket to the winch mechanism. The U-bracket is installed as shown. Slide the U-bracket and mounting bolt upward in the slot until the top edge of the bracket is 3/4" from the cross-member and tighten locknut.


STEP THREE Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with the grooved end facing toward the rear of the vehicle. Place the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers.

STEP FOUR Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of the lock bar down through the lug hole least obstructed by the mounting plate attached to the winch cable in the center of the wheel.

This Lock Is Designed To Install With Spare Tire In The Factory Installed Position, Valve Stem Down.

STEP FIVE The PVC lock bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock firmly against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with the PVC cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock bar mechanism with the lock bar groove.
