INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch mechanism and winch cable guide tube assembly attached to the edge of the frame cross-member panel. Locate the stamped 5/8" diameter hole in the cross-member panel just behind the guide tube support bracket.

STEP TWO Locate the narrow open space between the floor pan and the cross-member panel. Use a long thin blade screw driver or piece of heavy wire to guide the special 3/8" T-nut through the narrow space with the extended thread side down, until centered over the stamped 5/8" diameter hole in the cross-member panel. The picture shows the T-nut installed in this position. Thread the 3/8" socket screw into the T-nut until it stops against the floor pan. Place the U-bracket over the socket screw with a flat washer on top against the cross-member panel. The second washer installs under the locknut. Use a 3/16" allen wrench to prevent rotation of the socket screw and tighten the locknut to secure the U-bracket.Install the U-bracket in a "front to rear" position, as shown below.

STEP THREE Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with the grooved end facing toward the front of the vehicle. Place the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers. Rotate U-bracket as needed, until the lock bar is positioned approx. 2-3/8 inches from the vertical winch cable and re-tighten locknut.

STEP THREE Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of the lock bar through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as spare tire is returned to the full up/stored position.

This Lock Is Designed To Install With The Spare Tire In The Orignal Factory Position, Valve Stem Up.

STANDARD SERIES LOCKING INSTRUCTIONS: The PVC bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with the PVC cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock mechanism with the lock bar groove.

BLACK MAX SERIES LOCKING INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Remove the key from the lock cylinder.(2) Place the Black Max lock assembly over the end of the lock bar with the bar cover/seal end up. (3)Slide the lock assembly upward until the cover/seal makes contact with the tapered surface of the lug hole. (4)Press in on the "Push To Lock" button with the lock assembly still against the surface of the wheel, to engage the deadbolt lock mechanism with the groove in the locking bar.
