STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch cable tube and mounting bracket assembly attached to the frame cross-member directly above. Locate the stamped hole in the cross-member, in front of the mounting bracket assembly. STEP TWO Place the U-bracket under the stamped hole and align with the edge of the frame cross-member, as shown. Attach U-bracket to the frame using the provided washers, bolt and locknut. Install with one washer under bolt head and other under the locknut. STEP THREE Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with the grooved end facing toward the right rear of the vehicle. Install the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers. STEP FOUR Slowly raise the spare tire, allowing the lower end of the lock bar to pass through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as the spare tire is returned to the full up / stored position.

This Lock Is Designed To Install With The Spare Tire In The Orignal Factory Position, Valve Stem Up.
