HOW TO DEFEAT THE FORD F-150/250 FACTORY INSTALLED PLASTIC SPARE TIRE LOCK.
The quick and easy way to defeat the Ford F-150/250 plastic spare tire lock is to simply reach behind the bumper and remove the small c-clip retainer on the back side of the lock assembly. The picture at right shows the flat end of a small screw driver being used to remove the c-clip. Removing the c-clip releases metal cam plate from the plastic lock housing. The lock housing can then be removed from the front side of bumper with the lock cylinder still intact.
