Erik The Viking (Tim Robbins) is tired of being a Viking, a useless life with no ambitions beyond looting and pillaging. He would like to take a stab at something other than his neighbor. Something like...saving the world. An evil god has gulped down the sun and a great snow has covered the earth. There is only one thing that can defrost the planet - a trip to Asgaard: The holy land, where powerful gods are supposed to be protecting the world, not sleeping on the job. After a quick slap on his back from his grumpy gramps (Mickey Rooney), Erik rounds up a band of not-so-merry men and sets sail to make the most important wake-up call of his life. But first he must snuff out a fire-breathing dragon with allergies, endure the looney tunes of a mad monarch (Terry Jones), defeat a psycho killer who runs a torture chamber in his spare time (John Cleese) and brave a perilous waterfall at the edge of the world. Will Erik save the day for all mankind...or will he just get seasick?
