In a moving departure from his comedic roles, Tom Hanks, star of the widely acclaimed Splash, Bachelor Party and Nothing In Common, stars as a Royal Air Force officer caught amidst the ravages of World War II and unrequited love. Jerusalem, 1942. Tom Hanks is Flight Lieutenant David Bradford. While recuperating from a leg wound at a local army hospital, David meets and falls in love with a beautiful Jewish girl, Sarah. Her highly religious clan cruely rejects David, a gentile and the son of a minister. The family wages war on the couple by keeping Sarah separated from the man she loves. But, the two young lovers stage an emotional fight against the powerful ties of family, heritage and tradition. Everytime We Say Goodbye...a touching love story.
