Army battle Doc's today

DEFENCE FORCE will be looking to narrow the gap with leaders W Connection today when they clash with Doc's Khelwalaas at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from 4 pm in the seventh round of the Craven A Professional League.

At the Centre of Excellence in Macoya, a struggling Futgof will look for their first victory of the season when they come up against CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh in another match from 6 pm.

The Army (15 points) are coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to Connection last Friday and their fans will hope that they can get their rhythm flowing early.

A win will shorten Connection's lead to three points, but the Armymen would have played a game more.

Doc's meanwhile are no pushovers as they have shown so far, scoring sixteen goals, more than the other seven teams.

Guyanese Collie Hercules with eight of those, sits comfortably ahead of the league's other scorers. A victory for the Central boys will put them ahead of Joe Public, into third spot on the standings.

Newcomers Futgof have only one point and will be grateful for anything other than another loss in the final sixth round encounter.

Jabloteh won't want to let the chance of making up some lost ground slip by. A win for them today will carry them into fifth spot, ahead of a demoralised Point Fortin Civic Centre following their 8-1 thrashing by Joe Public on Sunday.
