Track 2001: District and Sectional

The first three pictures are of the District 6 open 800. I am the one in yellow, second from the left in the inside lanes. In order to move on to sectionals, you have to finish in the top four. Remember the girls on each side of me, because you'll see them again. As you can see, I finished third, behind Kelly from Seneca and Brandie from Branson.

District 4 X 800

This is the start of a long journey for our 4 x 800 team. That's Kristen, in yellow, getting ready to start the race. The second picture is when I finally passed the Webb City girl on the final lap. Our team placed first at Districts. Once again, the top four finishers advance to Sectionals.

Sectionals 4 X 8 and 4 X 2

Here are some shots of our 4 X 8 and our 4 X 2 as we advance to State. The first two pictures are the 4 X 8, in which we finished 3rd. The rest are of the 4 X 2, which finished second. Incidentally, the 4 X 2, set a new school record of 1:48.9 in the event. You'll also notice the picture of the handoff in which Erica is falling down after giving the baton to Heather. She actually ended up doing a sumersault before coming to a stop. The picture after that is Heather handing off to Kristen, followed by Kristen handing off to me (Emily), followed by me crossing the finish line.

Sectionals: Open 800

Here are some pictures of me running the 800 at Sectionals, held in Ozark. In order to advance to State, you had to place in the top four. I was 4th, behind Kelly of Seneca, Brandie of Branson, and some girl from School of the Osage, a school near Lake of the Ozarks, about 100 miles north of Monett. The first picture is near the end of the race. The leader is Kelly, whose head is visible above the man's cap. The second picture is after the race, as we all congratulate each other on a nice race.
