MATERIALS:
LION BRAND Jiffy, Art. No. 450 (3 oz. Solid color balls, excluding 111 Heather Blue and 151 Dusty Grey), 18 balls Color No. 099, Fisherman, or solid color of your choice, or Jiffy, Art. No. 450 (2.5 oz. multi-colors and Color Nos. 111 and 151 balls), 23 balls in multi or heather color of your choice.
CROCHET HOOK:
Size Q OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
11" piece of cardboard (for fringe)
GAUGE:
In pattern, 3 V-s sts = 6", 4 rows = 6".
TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTE:
Afghan is worked with three strands of yarn held together throughout.
AFGHAN:
Starting at bottom edge of the afghan, with three strands of yarn held together, loosely ch 67.
Row 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1, dc in same st, * skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch; repeat from * to last 2 ch, sk 1 ch, dc in last ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2: *(Dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 sp-one V-stitch made; repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning-ch. Ch 3, turn. Repeat Row 2 until 40 rows have been completed. Fasten off.
EDGING:
With the right side facing you, work 1 row of sc along each side edge of the afghan.
FRINGE:
Wind a single strand of yarn around an 11" piece of cardboard. Cut at one end, making 22"-long strands. Attach 9 strands per fringe. Fold strands of yarn in half to form a loop; insert the crochet hook through back of work in first stitch along bottom edge of afghan; pull loop through. Bring the ends through loop and tighten. Continue to attach fringe in every other space along the bottom edge. Repeat for the top edge. Trim fringe evenly.

STITCH EXPLANATION
Popcorn (PC) = Work 4 dc in next sc, remove hook and insert in first dc of 4-dc group, hook dropped loop, and pull through st; ch-1. PC made.
PATTERN I (Popcorn) - Make 5
Ch 22.
Row 1:
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 21 sc.
Row 2:(Popcorn Row)
Ch 3, turn, sk first sc, PC in next sc, * 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, PC in next sc; rep from * dc in last 3 sc (5 PC).
Row 3:
Ch 1, turn. Sc in first 3 dc, sc in PC [sk ch 1, work in dc where dropped loop was pulled through]; * sc in each of next 3 dc, sc in next PC, rep from *, end sc in top of t-ch (21 sc).
Row 4:(PC Row)

Row 3:

1 dc in 7th ch from hook. (1 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same ch as first dc [first large shell], * skip next 3 ch, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in next ch [small shell], sk 3 ch, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch [large shell]; rep from * to last 4 ch, skip 3 ch, 1 dc in last ch. (Note: Row has 3 large and 2 small shells, plus t-ch and 1 dc).
Row 2:
Ch 3, turn. Large shell in ch-3 sp of first large shell, * small shell in ch-2 sp of next small shell, large shell in ch-3 sp of next large shell; rep from *, end 1 dc in top of t-ch.
Repeat Row 2 to approximately 7½" from beg.
Final Row Ch 6, turn. 1 sl st in ch-3 space of large shell, * ch 3, small shell in ch-2 space of small shell, ch 3, 1 sl st in ch-3 space of large shell; repeat from * across, end ch 3, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Fasten off.
PATTERN IV (Diamond) - Make 5
Ch 25 for lower edge.
Row 1 (WS):
Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each rem ch - 23 dc, counting turning ch as one dc.
Row 2 (RS):
Ch 3, turn. 1 dc in back loop of 2nd dc, 1 dc in back loop of each remaining dc. 1 dc in top of turning ch. Row 3 Ch 3, turn. 1 dc in both loops of 2nd dc, 1 dc in both loops of each remaining dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 to 12 rows (approximately 8" from beg). Fasten off.
LOOP TRIMMING
Note:
Ch loops are worked from right side on front surface of Pat IV square, working into free loops on top of first and all odd-numbered rows.
FIRST LOOP ROW with RS facing, join yarn as follows: Make loop on hook, work 1 sc in free loop of 3rd dc in first row of square, * ch 11, sk next 5 dc, 1 sc in free loop of next dc; rep from * 2 times more - 3 ch loops. Fasten off.
SECOND LOOP ROW with Rs facing, join yarn as before in 3rd dc in 5th row of square, ch 5, insert hook around center of ch-11 below and also into free loop of 6th dc in 3rd row of square. Work 1sc around ch-11 and dc, fastening loop; * ch 11, insert hook around next ch-11, skip next 5 dc on 3rd row, insert hook into free loop of next dc, and work sc around ch-11 and dc; repeat from * 1 time more, ch 5. 1 sc into free loop of 3rd dc from end of 5th row. Fasten off.
THIRD LOOP ROW with RS facing, join yarn with sl st in first sc of previous loop row, * ch 11, skip next 5 dc of same row, insert hook around ch-11 below and into next dc, work 1 sc; repeat from * 1 time more, ch 11, sk 5 dc, join with sl st in last sc of previous loop row. Fasten off.
FORTH LOOP ROW with RS facing, join yarn as before in 3rd dc in 9th row of square, ch 5. Insert hook in free ch-11 below and into 6th dc in 7th row of square, work 1 sc; * ch 11, insert hook into next ch-11, skip next 5 dc in 7th row, insert hook into next dc and work 1 sc; repeat from * 1 time more, ch 5, 1 sc in 3rd dc from end of 9th row. Fasten off.
FIFTH LOOP ROW with RS facing, join yarn with sl st in first sc of previous loop row, ch 5, work 1 sc in 5th dc of 11th row, ch 5, insert hook into next ch-11, skip next 5 dc on 9th row, insert hook into next dc and work 1 sc, * ch 5, skip next 5 dc on 11th row, sc in next dc, ch 5, skip next 5 dc on 9th row, sc through next ch-11 and next dc; repeat from * 1 time more, end last repeat, ch 5, sl st in last sc of previous loop row. Fasten off.
Sew all ends to wrong side.
BORDER
On each square (20), join yarn in corner with sl st. Working in sc, work 2 rounds sc, working 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off. Sew or weave tog following chart. Join yarn with sl st at corner. Work in rounds for 2", working 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off.

MATERIALS:
LION BRAND Kitchen Cotton, Art. No. 760 (5 oz. solid color balls; 4 oz. multi-color balls): 2 balls #131 Fern Green or solid color of your choice. Crochet hook size G-6 U.S. (4.25 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
GAUGE:
4 sc = 1". TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. APRON:
Ch 69. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across -- 68 sc. Ch
1, turn. Cont in sc for 10". Fasten off.
POCKET:
Ch 61. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across -- 60 sc. Ch
1, turn. Cont in sc for 7". Fasten off.
FINISHING:
Position pocket on the apron 1" in from each side edge and even with bottom edge. Sew pocket to apron along side edges of pocket. Mark 2 vertical seams 4" in from each side edge of pocket piece to create 3 separate pockets. Work a vertical ch at each pocket marker from bottom edge to top edge.
Edging: With RS facing, join yarn with a sl st at the upper right corner
of apron and work 1 row sc along right side edge to next corner, 3 sc in corner, along bottom edge through both pieces to next corner, 3 sc in corner, then along left side edge. Fasten off. Tie: Ch 5. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across -- 4 sc. Ch 1, turn. Cont in sc for 60". Fasten off. Mark tie 21 1/2" in from each end, then invisibly sew tie to upper edge of apron bet the markers leaving 21 1/2" on each end free.
