Alfred Talley Jr. A member of G Battery (SLT), 29th Field Artillery, from 1969-1970, was born on March 4, 1948, and passed away on July 7, 1993, of bone cancer. He was from Gabbettville, Georgia. After returning home, he entered the law enforcement profession, and was the first black elected to the office of Sheriff in his county. He was truly one of the most popular members of G-29, a fine person, a good soldier, and certainly a fine citizen of the LaGrange-Gabbettville area. He will be missed not only by his family, but by his friends he served with in Vietnam.
