Victorian England
INFORMATION
The Victorian era is technically defined as the period
during which Queen Victoria ruled the British Empire (1837-1901).
Victorian England saw immense growth in the areas of wealth,
technology, and culture. Literature was one of the main areas
that increased greatly.
Science and technology made leaps and bounds as well. The
use of steam engines was popular, of course, with automobiles
becoming a reality towards the end of the Victorian period.
In the area of science, physicists were finally exploring
beyond Newtonian mechanics, forming the first principles of
Quantum Theory (though not to be finalized until the 1920's).
