David A. STEELE and Alzira PAUL settled in California Twp.,Branch Co., MI.
He enlisted in Branch County and was in the *11th MI. Inf.,Co.B.,
during the Civil War. He was mustered out on Sept 16, 1865. David A. Steele,
my great grandfather, by serving in the Civil War made it possible for me
to become a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW).

She died Feb. 27, 1918 in Coldwater, MI. Harriet married Alfred THOMPSON,
b: Dec. 17,1829in Oakland Twp.,Oakland Co.,MI. He died Jan. 22, 1918 in
Coldwater, MI where he became a very prominent citizen and business owner.
They were married on Feb.22,1850 in Orion, MI. They moved to Coldwater in 1852.
There were 2 children:
--Newcomb THOMPSON, b:April 12, 1851 in Orion, MI
--Alonzo V. THOMPSON, b:August 02, 1852 in Coldwater, MI
