This page is about animals and how the spirit world affects them. Cats, or familiars, have long been associated with witches, as have bats, snakes, spiders... Is it because they have nine lives? And when they lose one of their lives, do they lose a part of their soul... ? Or is it a separate soul for each of those nine lives? I don't think there's an answer to that in this life.

Cats have long been considered spiritual in Egyptian lore. Cleopatra has been known to see ghostly cats wandering around the palace. The Pharoahs had their pets interred with them in the pyramids, along with their servants. Maybe the spirits of these animals enhance the mysticism of Egypt.

As for modern day, let's take a look at the White House. Along with all the human spirits there, we have had sightings of several dogs and cats that also resided with them. Are these creatures attached to the place, or the people that lived there? What of other historical sites? Gettysburg, for instance. The horses went through the trauma of war just as the fighting men did. As did the farm animals and house pets in the vicinity of the battlefield. The picture on the left was taken by me, on my first trip to Gettysburg. There was no fog this night, and Rene' took a picture at the same time I did, and didn't get anything on her picture. I believe this to be the spirit of a horse that died in battle. Devil's Den is to the right of this.

On almost everyone of our investigations, a member of our group has seen a cat. This cat is never the same color as in the previous sighting. However, are spirit animals attracted to certain people, just as they are in life? If they are like people then I would say yes. It would seem that the person in the group is drawing the spirit of the cat to her, at the investigations.

Have you ever watched an animal at play? Cats, in particular, as they jump into the air, seemingly at nothing at all. We have video tape of cats interacting with spirit orbs. Cats seem to be able to see what most of us are unable to see, or understand.

Subject: cat spirits

Hi! I get to be first! As an animal lover who used to work at a shelter and that did the euthanizing for eight years, and also has and still have many critters, mostly cats, I have witnessed many apparitions. Mostly cats, but sometimes dogs. Once after a big earthquake, it was my turn to go check the shelter for any signs of damage after an aftershock happened. The shelter consisted of two rows of indoor outdoor kennels with a breeze way down the center in the inside. Late that night when I went in to check to make sure that the current population was all ok, I tuned on an external light to give me just enough light to see in but not upset the critters. There were many visible apparitions walking down the isle toward the the euthanasia room and going in. I never felt so heart torn in my life. I still have dreams about it and sometimes wonder if it was real or just do to stress from all the excitement do to the earthquakes. Another thing that happens with regularity is that while I am in bed reading, I will feel a cat walking on me. Thinking that it's one of my live ones, I will look down and nothing is there even though I can still feel it and see the quilt moving under invisible paws as if making bisquits. I was freaked out at first, but after many years of this, I have gotten used to it.

On another note, I could never take my kids Trick-Or-Treating without a herd of cats attaching themselves to me. It was hard not to take them all home with me as they obviously were well cared for.

Recently my husband and I went to a really nice hotsprings resort / bed and breakfast and we weren't out there five minutes sunbathing when a black cat came and jumped up on my back and went to sleep. Poor husband is afraid to take me anywhere now.
I do think that cats tend to be one of the fastest reincarnators.

I had a black cat named Midnight. She was 21 yrs old when she died in 1999? (I'm not sure of the exact year) I was the only one who could touch her, because she hated everyone else. She would sleep with me and everything else. If someone came near me when she was around she would growl at them or hiss and try to scratch them. It was the saddest day of my life when she died. Now onto my story................... I was sitting at home in my gameroom 4 months ago. It was about 1:45 p.m. and I was sitting at the computer with my feet propped up like I always do. The computer desk is on my right and there is a bar on my left. The dog is laying in the center of the floor sleeping. Every now and then I would glance over at the TV. Well my dog pops his head up like he is watching something. I thought maybe it was a mouse or something, but he kept watching like he was ready to attack at any moment. I went to stand up to see what he was looking at when this black cat hopped up onto the bar. At first I thought maybe one of the neighbors cats got in somehow or something. Well the cat walked over to where I was standing and sat on the bar and meowed. I was like Midnight? My heart started racing and my hands were shaking. I slowly reached out and she brushed my hand as if to say pet me. I started petting her and I could feel her purring. I had this weird feeling while petting her though like there was no weight to her body. I was thinking how could this be? I am petting this cat and I could feel her purring, but she has no weight to her? All of a sudden the phone rang and the cat disappeared in thin air. I amswered the phone and there was no one on the line. I hung up and got out of the house. I was shaking and crying when my mom came home. She asked what was wrong and I explained to her what had happened and she laughed and said I must of been dreaming. I told her I know for a fact I was wide awake and I know I was petting a cat that was midnight. So now I know she is still here with me and I know not to be afraid anymore. This is my friends e-mail.
