Listen to the title song, first on the CD, last. Taken as a whole, the songs seem self-absorbed, but this is to be expected from someone so closely associated with the blues. The morbid "Saint James Infirmiry" is interesting. "Little Village" is a cut apart from the rest, a tribute to, most likely, the town in which Van Morrison grew up in Ireland, no? His first self-produced album, and his first for Blue Note, this is a winner!
