Night Lords History

In The Beginning

The nL was born as a quest to create something beyond what already existed amongst the older clans. A new family, a new order, a new freedom. Pandesmos, Lilith and Raptor Red, the clan's founders, set upon their path with high ideals. However, on their way, they were derailed by some of the same obstacles that inspired the creation of their fledgling clan.

Power, instead of family (one of the deepest rooted ideals of the nL), became the driving goal of Pandesmos and Raptor. Pandesmos, the clan's King, did find love, however, in the person of Lilith, and asked her hand in marriage.

For unknown reasons, perhaps guilt for his actions, Raptor Red took his own life. Pandesmos took a mysterious sabbatical into the night, leaving the clan in the hands of his betrothed. Lilith ruled in a much more loving manner than her love, treating the nL more as family than as mere subjects.

This greatly endeared her to the clan, and the longer Pandesmos was absent, the more obvious it became that he could never be allowed to return to power. Lilith, ruling alone, had given back to the nL what it had lost.

A daring plot was hatched by two of Lilith's most staunch supporters: her brother Hellhound and his friend Tyger. Together, they set out to rally the clan around Lilith. They agreed when Pandesmos returned he would accept her as sole leader or they would deal with him accordingly. However, for reasons only he may ever know, Pandesmos never returned. Perhaps he saw that he had lost the right to govern the clan, or perhaps he met his fate somewhere in the night.

A New Age

The clan stood behind Lilith, and she worked to strengthen it's bonds. Her brother became her second in command, and they set out to forge the clan into a strong family and even stronger warriors.

Perils seemed to assail them from all sides: the Lost Souls (foul curs with no honor), the SS (fanatical hunters and cunning cowards). The worst threat became the dreaded X clan. nL sorcerers divined that it's leader, X-orcist-X, was the reincarnation of one of the nL founders, Raptor Red. The bad blood ran deep.

But it was a zX who slew X-orcist-X (for he had made many enemies in all clans). X-orcist-X fell in battle to zx_War-Machine-X. But the nL's challenges had just begun.

The greatest threat of any group is that from within. In her love for her family, Lilith stepped down from her throne and created a ruling council of three members. Each council member had a Templar as his second, and the Templars led an elite group of knights. Lilith thought that such solidarity would be more akin to what the nL represented.

The treacherous betrayal of a council member proved to be the next challenge for the Night Lords. However, as in all threats, the clan held tight, and Saiber joined the council with Hellhound and Lilith. DRYL became Templar to Lilith, Tyger to Hellhound, and Demonkat to Saiber. These six, along with their brave knights, became the pillars of the clan.

The Coming Of Loki

At a time of stability and growth for the young clan, Fate took the opportunity to deal them a dark hand. Loki, sire of Hellhound and long believed dead, returned to taunt the clan, and his childe. He brought with him two henchmen, his wife Angrboda and their childe, Fenris Wolf.

Together, they caused a great deal of havoc, threatening the clan and attacking with hit & run guerilla tactics. And in one of these attacks, a shocking secret was revealed. After sinking his fangs into the flesh of Lilith, Loki revealed that she was not truly Hellhound's sister. Saiber tested this herself at the behest of Hellhound and Lilith, and found it to be true. Brother and Sister were not truly of the same blood. At first they were devestated.

The clan drew together and stood fiercely against the threat of Loki and his brood. Finally, they perished at the hands of those they dared, unable to face the ferocity of the Night Lords clan. One by one they fell, like dominoes in the path of the nL scourge.

A New Foundation

Things would never be the same for Lilith and Hellhound, nor would they be the same for their beloved clan. Slowly, they began to realize feelings that they had never pondered as brother and sister, but things had changed. The two of them fell deeply in love with each other, and as they grew closer, so did the whole of their clan.

As oft times happens, with growth came the need for change. The clan, once again, had expanded beyond its former capacity, and something new was needed. With great honor, the clan proclaimed Hellhound and Lilith their King and Queen, and the two were wed in a glorious ceremony.

A new Advisory Council was formed, and the King and Queen kept their Templars. The Knight's ranks were swelled with new members, and the clans ranks continued to prosper and grow, even when the darkest of clouds settled over the realm of Tyran's Cove. For they could weather any storm together...

As time went by Hound grew discontent. He decided to leave the Night Lords and not to long after, his and Lilith's marriage fell apart. They had tried but once again, Lilith was left to take care of her nL family alone.

Her templar, DRYL, stood at her side helping her emotionally to deal with the running of the clan as well as her grief over the failure of yet another marriage. Soon they discovered that they loved one another.

DRYL asked Lilith for her hand in marriage and Lilith, though afraid of another loss, accepted. They were wed and for many years did rule side by side, Lilith having made DRYL king, one of Tyran's most loving couples.

DRYL left on a journey many years later, leaving his wife Lilith, to defend herself and her family. During this time, a band of vampire hunters known as Hazard began to plague the nL. Lilith along with her son Varius was captured and held hostage by the cruel leader Aris Hazard.

Through much negotiation the nL were able to secure the release of Varius and held hopes of the same for Lilith. That was not to be. The Hazards took her life, setting her soul loose in a void of death and darkness to be tormented. Lilith's sons, Havok and Varius, took over ruling the clan since their father, DRYL, had still not returned.

Upon his return, DRYL found his wife dead, and the children he left blaming him for abandoning her. A great rift was formed and Havok told his father he was no longer king, and took the crest of nL Lord for his own. DRYL, devestated at the loss of his wife and the attack of his sons, left nL to go his own way, letting Havok take over as the new Lord of nL.

As time passed, Havok decided he needed to get away. The loss of his mother had been a blow which he had never truly recovered from. He left his brother, Varius, in charge in his absense as temporary Lord. He set out on is journey vowing to return to his family and his rightful place as King.

Varius, having found a way to return his mother's soul to her body, did so during Havok's absense. Lilith was revived, though there was much she could not remember, the love she felt for her family was still strong. She agree to rule beside her son, Varius. Soon though, as things oft do, the nL began to grow stagnant. To many had lost the heart to go on, to be what Lilith and the others had sought upon its creation.

Lilith and Varius disbanned the clan. Heart breaking though it was, it led to much turmoil and confusion which is still not settle to this day.
