The Classical authors believed that these principals could apply to any enteprise.
Understand an organization in terms of all the activities involved and group the activities into various sections. For each unit there needed to be the right need of control, co-ordination and specialization.
Additional principals
What organizations would have broad objectives which are broken down to more local objectives for the various parts of the business.
The broader organizational activities are broken down to activities relating to business units, teams and then to the individual level.
Authority is delegated throughout.
All individuals have specific levels of responsibility and accountability.
The relationship between employers is on a formal basis.
