1. Main features of effective time management
- Having clear objectives for everything you do
- Establish what your priorities are
- Distinguish between what is important and urgent
- Use a "to do list".
- Use a diary/year planner
- Allocate realistic periods of time for each task
- Adopt the 3 D's principal- do it, delegate it, dump it
- Be focused and productive in your use of the telephone
- Be careful with your attendance at meetings
- Manage all your paperwork with care
- Focus the efforts of you and your team in getting it right first time
- Try and obtain and always give ongoing feedback to ensure that your own performance and those of others is "on track".
- Have an effective and efficient admin system
