  • Must be clear, focused and understandable
  • Audience must understand the language used
  • Be aware of the size and "make-up" of the audience
  • Be aware of the audience's current knowledge levels
  • Having three main parts-opening, main conclusion
  • Use appropriate support material, visual aids, etc
  • Ensure that you set out the parameters of the presentation at the outset.
  • Agree and state when you will take questions and whether you are prepared to be interrupted as you go along
  • Prepare properly and thoroughly prior to the presentation.

  • To specifically ask someone in the audience to give meaningful feedback
  • To ask informally after the briefings how people felt
  • To have yourself filmed/videoed
  • To consider yourself how you personally met your own objectives
