cream cheese tasties

Yield: 40 Cookies Oven Temp: 375 F Prep. Time: 40 min.

Ingredients: 
2 Cup Flour (All Purpose)
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Butter (Unsalted)
8 Oz. Cream Cheese (Softened)
1/2 Cup Sugar (Confectioners')
1/4 Cup Jelly (Raspberry)

Instructions:
1. Combine flour and salt.
2. In a large bowl, beat the shortening, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth.
3. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
4. Divide the dough in half.
5. Wrap each half in waxed paper and chill for 8 hours.
6. On floured surface, roll out one half of the dough to a rectangle approximately 10x11.5".
7. Trim the edges of the dough and cut lengthwise into 4 strips.
8. Cut each strip into 5 squares.
9. Place 1/4 tsp. raspberry preserves in the center of each square.
10. Fold the corners into the center to form a folded square.
11. Place 1" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
12. Bake for 10 to 12 min. until lightly colored and transfer to wire racks to cool.
13. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Baking note: use fluted pastry cutter for a decorative edge.
