"The Book of Pooh - Stories From the Heart"

While Disney didn't invent Winnie the Pooh, nor first animate him,
it certainly has Americanized the British bear into a cartoon
character hardly resembling A.A. Milne's original 1924 creation.
Although Disney's four "Storybook Classics" titles (from 1966) were
somewhat faithful to Milne's concept, subsequent titles (especially
in the "Playtime" and "Learning" series) descended into second-rate
TV fare. All this to say that Disney has redeemed itself...

Russ Duritz (Bruce Willis) is an ultracynical, 40-year-old Los
Angeles image consultant who fashions bogus facades for scumbag
clients. Oblivious to his own need for a makeover, he's a tyrant in
the office (to the chagrin of his sarcastic assistant, played to
perfection by Lily Tomlin), and he's emotionally unavailable to the
morally centered woman (Emily Mortimer) who senses goodness beneath
Russ's hardened veneer. Not a moment too soon...

"Tourist Trap"

Take Chevy Chase's screwball "Vacation" movies, plug in Daniel
Stern and Julie Hagerty as the parents of two can't-be-bothered kids
coerced into holing up in an RV with their well-intentioned dud of a
dad and mild-mannered mom for three weeks, and file down the funny
parts just enough so no one gets offended, and what you get is
"Tourist Trap," a likable movie with heart and a message. George
Piper (Stern) is a disgruntled...
"Balloon Farm"

The town of Waterston is facing a severe drought, so it seems odd
when a mysterious farmer named Harvey Potter moves into the
community and attempts to plant a new crop. Thus begins Disney's
"Balloon Farm," a tale about keeping one's trust and belief even in
the bleakest of times. Rip Torn stars as the farmer who finds
skepticism in all of the residents except one, a small girl named
Willow (Mara Wilson, of "Matilda"). Greater suspicion...
"Flash"

When it comes to films about a lasting friendship between a boy and
his horse, it's hard to follow in the footsteps of the 1979 classic
"The Black Stallion." Nonetheless, "Flash" makes a valiant effort.
Set in a rural Southern town, the story revolves around the title
character, a 2-year-old racehorse who is the prized possession of
14-year-old Connor Strong (played by Lucas Black from "Sling
Blade"). When financial troubles...

"So let me get this straight: I turn out to be a loser?!"

comedy-drama "The Kid." It's available on DVD and will be released

Fans of "Pepsi Girl" Hallie Kate Eisenberg will find her scarcely
recognizable as the silent, sullen young Helen Keller. Blind, deaf,
and mute, Helen is unable to communicate with her family except
through temper tantrums. She is allowed to eat with her hands, tear
buttons off the clothes of others, and even knock over the baby's
cradle. She is barely pacified with candy and headed toward
institutionalization when Annie Sullivan enters her life....

"Murder She Purred: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery"
Our price: $13.99 | You save: $1.00

Disney's delightful whodunit mystery "Murder She Purred" is told
through the eyes of two four-legged critters considerably smarter
than the humans they are observing. Based on the novel by Rita Mae
Brown, the film is set in a small Virginia town where secrets run as
deep as Southern-style charm. Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen (Ricki
Lake) calls the shots around town as she runs the post office. But
the real brains of the burb belong to Harry's cat....
"The Love Bug"

The box-office success of Disney's 1969 classic "The Love Bug"
inspired a slew of Herbie sequels, and, ultimately, this 1997
remake. Though remakes occasionally best the original (consider
Disney's "The Parent Trap"), this one does not. It is difficult to
match the talents of the original cast--namely Dean Jones, Buddy
Hackett, and David Tomlinson. At least the car hasn't diminished
during its 30-year absence. Herbie is still the smart, quirky
Volkswagen Beetle....
"A Knight in Camelot"
Our price: $13.99 | You save: $1.00
...more here.
The premise for Disney's "A Knight in Camelot" is an intriguing
one. What if we could go back in time, with the wisdom and knowledge
of our present day, and improve history? In this made-for-television
comedy inspired by Mark Twain's fable "A Connecticut Yankee at King
Arthur's Court," Whoopi Goldberg plays Dr. Vivien Morgan, a computer
research scientist studying gravitational pull. Through a
programming malfunction...

In this modern adaptation of the biblical tale, Tony Danza stars as
Norman Waters, a nice yet conniving building contractor called upon
to build the legendary ark when God decides to destroy the Earth a
second time. Reluctantly accepting the challenge presented by God's
liaison, Zach (effectively portrayed by veteran character actor
Wallace Shawn), Norman slowly learns...
"Tower of Terror"

Kirsten Dunst stars as plucky teen niece to Steve Guttenberg in
this 1997 telefilm that sets out to provide background for one of
Disney/MGM Studios' popular thrill-rides, the Twilight Zone Tower of
Terror. Guttenberg plays Buzzy, a down-on-his-luck former journalist
relegated to concocting stories for a Weekly World News-inspired
tabloid. When an elderly woman approaches Buzzy with a compelling
ghost story...

laughs for kids and adults.
The farce is also available in a deluxe two-disc DVD Ultimate Edition

pup), and Waddlesworth, a parrot who thinks he's a rottweiler,
voiced by Eric Idle.
