BioHistory

Welcome to the Official Maladiction Homepage! Maladiction is based
out of Concord, Ca. Maladiction was created by Brad and Dave in
October of 1996. Brad from WACO JESUS and Dave from
FUNERAL HECKLER decided to create something brutal.
Chuck Scott came along for the vocal puking in the
summer of '97. Through a variety of drummers and bass
players since the beginning, we acquired Jeff and
Mike in October '97. With the line-up fully formed in
October of '97, Maladiction started playing shows in
February '98. In May '98, a 3 song demo was recorded at
Trident Studios, Pacheco CA.

Mike (drummer) left the band in the spring of 1999
with a bulged disk in his lower back that required
surgery. Fortunately Mike had the opportunities prior
to surgery to play with countless local bands as well as
open with us for Death, Fleshgrind, Sadus, Jungle Rot,
Deeds of Flesh and his last show at the Cocodrie in SF
for Malevolent Creation on Valentines Day 99.

In March of 99 Mike was unable to play the
Morbid Angel/Nile show at Maritime Hall SF with us. We
borrowed a drummer (Ivan) from another local band and
rehearsed everyday for 2 weeks with him before the show.
After that show the band took most of the summer off.
We started auditions in August '99 and found Ryan O'Connor
(from Fremont) as our drummer. After 1 year
of playing shows and a cd, Ryan left to pursue other musical
interests. After a long search we have a new drummer,
Ramon Ochoa, who joined Maladiction in January 2001.

Maladiction is:
Ramon Ochoa: drums
Brad Heller: guitar
Chuck Scott: vocals
Dave Walker: guitar
Jeff Pharris: bass

Death metal is the quest of our art. The science of incorporating
nihilistic brutality and frustrated anger of modern life into an
artform of sound is death metal: an artistic experience in conception,
assembly, and anti-aesthetic finishing as well as the ideology of an
underground movement.
