Smallmouth Bass are a versitile fish. They will attack anything that
resembles prey.
Fishing on a river is the best area to catch these fish with this bait.
Rivers create backwaters, eddies, and undulating pockets. These areas
are prime habitat for smallies.
Fish the bait from up-river. Cast the N.F.L's over brush piles that
have built up on the banks. Slow retrieve them (extremely slow due to
fast moving current) over obstacles. Huge smallies use structure in
these eddies to ambush prey. When these baits are fished correctly on
these waters, it's nothing short of incredible.
This type of fishing takes practice, but will produce some of the best
smallmouth fishing you have ever done.
Don't forget your anchor!!
