Bleiburg Death Marches

Bleiburg
Dr Giuseppi Massucci, secretary of the Vatican's envoy to the Croatian Episcopate, writes in his published diary, under the date November 22, 1945:

"New punishments continuously send men to death by hanging. The entire land is inundated by streams of tears. After the massacres of several hundred thousand Croatian soldiers and civilians in the first months of the Communist regime, shootings and hangings still are being carried out, day in and day out. Evidently this policy of mass execution is that of the new regime rather than a series of acts committed by irresponsible elements. There is no one who does not mourn someone."

The circumstances of the Bleiburg tragedy are so fully documented that there is no need to belabor the point. There was enormous loss of life in Croatia during the war, there were atrocities on an immense scale. There was an attempt at genocide. Communist propaganda has consistently endeavored to place the guilt for these infamies upon the Croatian Ustasha movement. But in truth, those guilty were the fanatical communist partisans of Josef Broz "Tito".
