I was coming out of an Albertson's supermarket one day in Pocatello when I spied a wonderful looking woman carrying three bags of groceries. Somehow, the food connection made this an extremely erotic experience. I wrote this song in the car on the way home from the store. Kinda bluesy beat. Sometimes I laugh at myself when I think about where my ideas for songs come from.

Kitchen Romance (1990)

There’s a good looking woman in the kitchen
A chicken frying in the pan
The only thing’s that’s missing
is an all night loving man
You can pick one up in the grocery store
In a section labeled TLC
The ingredient that you’re looking for
is my home made recipe

listen

Take a hand full of Muskogee
and a spoonful of them blues
Mix in a little bit of soul and spice
and a rhythm you can’t lose
Don’t worry about directions
‘cause you don’t even have to look
Just loosen up them apron strings
Momma we can learn to cook

Just put it in the oven, put it on top the stove
Put it in the barbecue
with the temperature way down low
Put it in a skillet, put it in a frying pan
No matter how you cook it
I’m gonna be your loving man
