There were a bunch of us 'old guys' sitting around on a front porch singing one summer evening when I realized that none of us still had all their hair (except for cheryl, and she was turning grey). We were going to do a gig at a hospital and didn't have a name. We ended up calling ourselves the 'Mid-life Crisis Band'. *smile*

chorus Just because I’ve seen my share of yesterdays Doesn’t mean I can’t believe in living life today Life is what you make it and I do believe it’s fine And in my heart I’ll always be just a shade past 29. I know this poor old body has seen some better days but I can still run and catch and hit like Willie Mays I always make the half time, but I tire now in the third, Still I’ll hit my 20 footers, just like Larry Bird In matters of philosophy, I may have changed my views But the wisdom of experience I think I’ve always used but there are things about me I know will never change Like chasing after pretty girls and acting kind of strange When I think about the ladies, old lovers from my past I salute them with my memory and I don’t mean at half mast I’ve tasted love at seventeen and known it in my prime Once I was just soda pop, but now I’m vintage wine It’s been a while since I have dated, a while since I’ve been out but the very first time I laid eyes on you, I knew there was no doubt If I were ten years younger, if I had all my hair I’d take you home with me tonight and I’d kiss you everywhere
