Communications: Mailing lists and Newsgroups

If you're looking for places to communicate with other LFN fans or the actors/suits of LFN, you've come to the right place.  Below is a list of all the LFN-related mailing lists, newsgroups, and fan mail addresses that we know of.  We've tried to provide short reviews for most of the mailing lists, since there are a lot and it's kind of hard to know which ones to subscribe to if you're not already on them.  If you know of a list that you think should be included here, please feel free to email Nightingale at  nightingale@eudoramail.com or Simantha at simantha@softhome.net and let us know. We claim no responsibility for phone calls/letters made/mailed to the addresses and phone numbers listed below, nor do we have any affiliation with them. Out of respect for the actors/suits of LFN, if we get our hands on a personal address/number, we are NOT going to post it.
 

General LFN Discussion Lists:

Section Two:  The first of the LFN mailing lists.  This list is for serious discussion of all aspects of the show.  This list is good if you want to talk about LFN and not have to worry about all of the off-topic posts that frequently occur on mailing lists. To subscribe to Section 2, send an email to majordomo@merlin.darkmage.net  with "subscribe section2" in the message body.  To go on digest mode, which saves space in your inbox by sending all the posts in one message, put "subscribe section2-digest" in the message body.
 

The LFN Discussion List: The Operatives (aka the "Nikita" list): This list is Nightingale's personal favorite, because it allows for both serious discussion of LFN, as well as fun.  This list is a really friendly one, and if you're a newbie she recommends joining this list first.  However, if you don't like getting a lot of emails, this might not be the list for you.  To subscribe send mail to nikita-request@ListService.net  with "subscribe" in the message body.  To subscribe in digest mode, mail to  nikita-digest-request@listservice.net  with "subscribe" in the message body.
 

CovertOps:  This list is similar to Section 2, but seems to have more discussion and less fun.  To subscribe, send an email to CovertOps-request@MyList.com with "subscribe" in the subject.
 

Lists Devoted to Individual Characters/Actors:
 

Royettes:  This list is for discussing anything and everything about Roy Dupuis, who plays Michael.  It's another really fun list if you're a fan of Roy.  To subscribe, send an email to royettes-request@ListService.net  with the word "subscribe" in the message body.  To subscribe in digest mode, send an email to  royettes-digest-request@ListService.net.  with "subscribe" in the message body.

The RoyDupuis List:  Similar to the Royettes, only less drooling and more "mature" discussions of Roy's work. To subscribe, send mail to  roydupuis-request@MailingList.net with "subscribe" in the message body.  To subscribe to digest, the address is  roydupuis-digest-request@MailingList.net .

PetaFiles:  As far as we know this is the only list dedicated solely to Peta Wilson. If you're a fan of Peta Wilson, it's worth a look.  To subscribe, go here .

Birkoff Babes:  This list is dedicated to Birkoff/Matthew Ferguson. To subscribe, send mail to  birkoffbabes-request@userhome.com  with "subscribe" in the message body, or to  birkoffbabes-digest-request@userhome.com  with "subscribe" in the message body. 

Bruce Payne List: This is a list dedicated to Bruce Payne, who guest starred as "Jurgen" in three episodes.  To subscribe, go  here .
 
Walter's Wisdoms: Dedicated to Walter/Don Francks.  To subscribe, go  here.
 

Fan Fiction:
 

The LFN Fanfic list: A list where you can post and read new LFN fanfiction.  If you've already read all of the LFN stories in the Fanfic Archive, or if you have a story of your own that you want to share, this is the place for you.  To subscribe, send an email to  majordomo@merlin.darkmage.net  with "subscribe lfnfic-l" in the body. 

The LFN Fanfic Discussion List:  This list is where you can discuss the fanfic sent to the fanfic list, or any old fanfics.  It's different from the Fanfic list because no actual fanfic is sent to this list, it's all discussion. To subscribe, send an email to majordomo@merlin.darkmage.net with "subscribe lfndisc-l" in the message body.

LaMenage:  This list is for adults (this means OVER 18!) only, and is for "adult" discussion and fanfic.  To subscribe, send a message stating that you're over 18, and the word "subscribe" in the SUBJECT line, to  lamenage@mindspring.com .  To subscribe in digest mode, send a note to  nunkies@mindspring.com .


New Lists:
We haven't actually checked any of these out yet, since they are fairly new, but if you see one that interests you it is probably worth a look.  
 

Covert Lovers: This list deals with the many relationships within Section One.  To subscribe, email list moms  aries2380@yahoo.com or  northstar8a@yahoo.com , or visit their webpage at  http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Studio/6149 

The Agency: This list is mainly for fans in the UK who are seeing Season One episodes for the first time, and therefore won't have any discussion of Season Two eps that are airing in the US and Canada.  Might be nice for anyone who missed any of Season One and is seeing the eps on tape for the first time, or anyone who just wants to discuss any of these old episodes again.  To subscribe, go to  http://www.iduna.demon.co.uk/comm.htm  and follow the instructions.  

LFN 5-percent: The name of this list comes from one of Walter's speeches about the "5% of operatives who don't have their souls sucked out of them yet".  I think it's another general LFN discussion list.  To subscribe, go  here .

LFN Classified: This list deals with LFN items that fans want to trade or sell.  To subscribe, go  here .

LFN Intel Red Alert:  An intel only list.  Info on LFN related events, movies made by LFN cast members, any "news" pertaining to LFN, but none of the chit-chat and discussion.  To subscribe, go  here .

LaFemmeNikita (In French) A LFN discussion list for French-speaking fans.  To subscribe, go  here .

Newsgroups:
 

There are 2 LFN newsgroups,  alt.fan.la-femme.nikita , and  alt.tv.lafemme-nikita .  If you can't read these newsgroups by clicking on them, try going to  http://www.dejanews.com  and subscribing to them.
