10-1-99 Interview w/ Roger Camero

Me - So far, what has been your worst experience while on tour?
Roger - breaking down three times on one tour missing 6 shows and having to buy a new transmission that still doesnt work correctly causing us to pay for hotels for too long ending in a large amount of debt.
Me - How did you get started with the bass, any other instruments that you played first?
Roger - when i was in kindergarten i was introduced to the piano. took lessons 2nd grade to 3rd grade. in second grade i was intrduced to the drum set. 4th grade stopped paino and got a drum set for my b-day. around that time my brother had been playing the guitar for a couple years and so i got interested in that. I got an acoustic guitar in 7th grade and an electric my freshman year. I played drums in a couple bands and guitar in a couple bands since 95 and in 98 i joined no motiv and im still attempting to learn the bass guitar

Me - When do most of the songs get written, on the bus? Spare time?
Roger - when we are alone thinking too much
Me - does everyone from the band contribute lyrics?
Roger - no its all from jeremy's heart
Me - that's coo
Roger - we all help with the music though
Me - how does a song take form, does he make up some guitar to the lyrics, or does max ever think up the sound and the lyrics fall into place?
Roger - first someone comes up with the song structure, if its all good we dont do anything to it if it needs help we all add to it. if jer wrote the song then he might have lyrics already. if not jer writes the lyrics eventually
