Vincent v The Dark One (me)
Vincent dreams of sunshine and crashing foaming seas,
of majestic snow-capped mountains, of falling autumn leaves.
To lie beneath the fragrance of honeysuckle on lush green summer grass And have Catherine come along and slap him on the ...(er no can't put that)...
(put instead)...
and gaze up at a summer sky as clear as crystal glass.
Vincent dreams of seeing and experiencing all the things
that we all take for granted, as sure as birds have wings.
And all he knows of life above are from the words on pages
And wishes he could work like Cath, so he could have some wages...er no...
And also that while men are free, beasts are kept in cages.
And having both within himself, he has an inward fight
A desire to walk the daylight hours as often as the night
To feel the sunshine on his face, its rays to smart his eyes
Or to lie Catherine down upon the grass and hear her moans and sighs...yikes...definately not!
Or to stand beneath a tranquil moon and awesome starlit skies. (that sounds better - phew!)
For Catherine, the things he sees, spell magic and romance
Beneath starry heavens, on moonlit earth, he and she would dance.
Its said that beauty lies within the eyes of the beholder
But Catherine hopes and prays, that Vincent would be bolder...No...
And Catherine finds sanctuary on the strength of Vincent's shoulder
And as we watch, our hearts beat fast, we feel it would be bliss
to see him take her in his arms, and tilt her face to kiss
A deep sweet kiss that lingers on, full of depth and love
And says 'your place or mine Catherine, Below or up Above?'...(No not that)...
A memory for him to take Below, and one for her Above.
And when she's gone, he stands alone by the tunnel in Central Park
and a poignant love song drifts to him from somewhere in the dark
And he bows his head, and acknowledges the words so haunting and true.
"For I could have told you Vincent, this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you." *... (Now this time it's perfect)...
*Don McLean
