Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that our beloved friend, Jianzhong Cao, passed away at the Mayo Clinic on Saturday, May 2 at 10:30 p.m. He died peacefully with his wife, brother and me at his bedside. The memory service was hold on Monday, May 4. Many friends who heard the sadness sent out the Fax and ordered the flowers. Jianzhong was honored by his friends over the world. Jianzhong was a remarkable man. A man with a fine intellect that was kind, generous and very forgiving of the shortcomings of other people. In his 40 years and 5 months life, He had done many many for others and had shown his unlimited love to many many others. I am the one who was moved and influenced by his great personality and living attitude. Jianzhong was the bravest fighter. He had a tremendous fighting sprit that was matched only by his strong will to survive. He was sure that he would conquer this terrible disease. Even in the last a few hours of his life, he answered strongly with "YES" to the Doctor's question about the necessarity of some ultimate medical means. I admired his courage in the face of the impossible odds. He fought the valiant fight, but in the end he came up short in the battle for life. He was a great winner in his spirit! Farewell Jianzhong, wherever you are. Your spirit will live on. You will live in our memory forever!

1) A Scholarship fundation in memory of Jianzhong is setting up in Dept of Math, MTU, where Jianzhong worked in the last a few years of his life and had set up a Lab and a research program with a focus on the semi-conductor industry. Jianzhong will appreciate your concerns and donations from which many others from our country will benefited.
