Right-wing parties, policies and political orientations should always be seen in context with other parties policies and how they form together the political landscape of a country before any judgement is made (the same is valid for left-wing parties and their political orientation).

Our neighbour Australia has already had some experience with the right-wing in the form of the
One Nation Party. We can learn from their experience !

To begin with - you might want to access their web site (right-wing orientations come in many variations and flavours - One Nation for example persues certainly other political goals than a right-wing party in New Zealand would).

 ONE NATION Party (Australia)

Right-wing orientations from all over the world have throughout history - and esp. this century - shown that they have elements in common and how they promote themselves.

Some examples :

Burning issues - like "Law and Order"- are put in the foreground of political propaganda to convince the masses that there are (important) issues to be addressed above all others (without going into details - just catchwords to grap attention).

Sounds familiar ?

Minorities, other races, under-performers, the unemployed etc. are seen as problem areas which need to be addressed because they are holding the development of a nation back. The most common propaganda is then:  it is their own fault, they have caused their own misery, there must be sanctions etc.

Sounds familiar ?

The "hard-working middle-class" is mainly addressed - they are the ones caring for the rest - esp. the underprivileged - the middle-class pays the taxes, the middle-class are the ones who should benefit first, the middle-class  ...  etc.

There is mostly NO substance in claims nor will any of the promises really be fulfilled (at least not without sacrificing other things). Often the policies are only shallow, more lamenting about all these people taking away what belongs to others (who deserve it more).

Sounds familiar ?

The "progressive element" is also put in the foreground. Naturally the left-wing, the unions etc. are presented as the cause for the misery we all are in. "Turning the clock back" is considered a NO, NO - even if it would sometimes be very wise to do so.

Economic and social policies of the right-wing are often very flawed - or not thought through at all ! No concepts, no solutions, no realistic plans ...  just trivia and drivel to catch the attention.

Sounds familiar ?

The right-wing finds their supporters if people are disillusioned with the situation as it is - and the people fall for it without taking into consideration future consequences - esp. if the right-wing is NEW in a country.

At the following web site we have found a very comprehensive list of political parties from around the world from all directions :
