SCRUBS

If you have oily skin and gunky pores - like me - here's a facial scrub that works.

PEPPERMINT OATMEAL FACIAL by mirus

2 tablespoons old-fashioned oatmeal
2 tablespoons dried peppermint leaves
Honey

Grind the oatmeal and peppermint into a powder.
Place into a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Add enough honey to make a paste.
Scrub away.

This should last and last since honey is a natural preservative.
The honey is also a humectant and should keep you from over-drying your skin.
Oatmeal is a gentle exfolliant.
Peppermint opens pores and cleanses dirt and oil.
If you want an extra kick or don't have any peppermint leaves, you can add 8 - 12 drops of peppermint essential oil.
This can also be used as a mask, just rinse off after 10 minutes.

Please keep in mind, this recipe is for oily skin. No point in getting flaky.
If you have normal skin, substitute lavender buds or lavender oil for the peppermint.
If you have dry skin, substitute roses or rose oil for the peppermint. Moisturize afterwards.

BODY SCRUB

Here's a nice and easy all-over body scrub. DO NOT use this on your face.

Olive oil
Sea Salt

Put the salt into a jar.
Add enough olive oil to cover and make a workable texture.
Scrub with this before you get into the shower or tub.
This exfoliates and leaves your skin silky smooth - even after you soap up.

You can change the oil. Sweet almond or jojoba is also very moisturizing.
Add a few drops of essential oil if you like. Sandalwood is good for dry skin.

SOAP SCRUB - for faces

1 bar of your favorite soap (grated)
An equal part of old-fashioned oats

Put these items in a food processor and whiz away.
Process until The soap looks like grains.

To Use:
Take a palmful and wet it.
Scrub your face.

The oatmeal gently exfoliates while the soap cleanses.
