As a united, warm, and loving group of ladies, we Net Sisters care about all of the world's innocent, helpless creatures.  Animals, like children, only want to be loved and nurtured.  They give their owners unconditional love and much companionship.

Having a pet is a big responsibility.  It's easy to love the baby animals, such as kittens or puppies.  But what we must understand is that when they grow up, they are products of what they have been taught as a puppy or a kitten.  Just like children, they have to learn what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior.  And they learn that from us, the petowners.

We also have the responsibility to maintain their physical care, such as innoculations and spay and neutering. We must stop the abuse of unwanted animals!  The best way to do this is to prevent their birth. And if we choose to breed our animals, we must take the responsibility for finding them loving, safe homes.  Doing this for monetary gain only is abuse of the worst kind.  We have puppy mills all over our country as well as other countries. These dogs and puppies live in conditions that are unbelievable to me.  So it is also our responsibility as loving human beings to report this type of abuse to authorities.  Even if you are not a so-called animal lover, please use your human kindness to stop this mistreatment of any of our creatures, human or otherwise.

As a united group, we Net Sisters are striving to raise the awareness of the plight of these animals.  They have no voice to speak for themselves and Net Sisters has chosen to become just "one" of their voices.  Net Sisters feel that any abuse to animals is unacceptable.  We hope that by viewing this page and some of the links provided that you will also come to feel the same.

Do I Go Home Today?

 My family brought me home
cradled in their arms.
They cuddled me and smiled at me,
and said I was full of charm.

They played with me and laughed with me,
they showered me with toys.
I sure do love my family
especially the girls and boys.

The children loved to feed me,
they gave me special treats.
They even let me sleep with them
all snuggled in the sheets.

I used to go for walks,
often several times a day.
They even fought to hold my leash,
I'm very proud to say.

These are things I'll never forget
a cherished memory.
I now live in a shelter
without my family.

They used to laugh and praise me
when I played with that old shoe.
But I didn't know the difference
between the old ones and the new.

The kids and I would grab a rag
for hours we would tug.
So I thought I did the right thing
when I chewed the bathroom rug.

They said that I was out of control,
and would have to live outside.
This I did not understand
although I tried and tried.

 The walks stopped, one by one;
they said they hadn't time.
I wish that I could change things,
I wish I knew my crime.

 My life became so lonely,
in the back yard on a chain.
I barked and barked all day long
to keep from going insane.

So they brought me to the shelter
but were embarrassed to say why.
They said I caused an alergy,
and then, kissed me good-bye.

If I'd only had some classes,
as a little pup
I wouldn't have been so hard to handle
when I was all grown up.

"You only have one day left,"
I heard the worker say.
Does this mean a second chance?
Do I go home today?
