A HIKING WE DID GO!!

LIGHTHOUSE DISTRICT CUB SCOUT HIKE
OCTOBER 2, 1999
CAMP GERBER

The weather threatened but it turned out nice,
with partly sunny skies, as Pack 3030
joined over 600 Scouts and Adult Volunteers in the
Annual Lighthouse District Hike held
at beautiful Camp Gerber.

First our Pack hiked around Britton Lakes
with a snack at the Fort, tour of the Tree Houses,
and pictures at the Ceremonial Bowl.
The next stop was the Pegasus Campsite,
where they "Panned for Gold".
At the Commanche Campsite they learned about old time
transportation.

Then on to the Dakota Campsite where
Roger gave a cannon demonstration.
Roger, Lighthouse District Member At Large, made the
cannon and fired it off 4 times.

Finally at the Pavillion they met Michael, GRF Council Scout
Executive, dressed as an authentic 18th century trapper.
He gave a talk and demonstration about life in Michigan
during the Fur Trading Days.

Thank you to all who participated
and to all who helped organize this
Great Cub Scout Hike.
