Doves are peaceful birds with the gentlest of natures. While the sex in most types of doves is hard to distinguish, in the ringnecks the female coo's and the male makes a noise that sounds exactly as if he were giggling at you.
The sweet sounds and calmness of these birds is the reason we kept a large cage with a pair of doves right in our bedroom. There is no better sound to awaken to than a pair of doves at first light.
We also carry the adorable little diamond doves that can even be housed with certain finch species due to their small size and gentle disposition.
