"OUR COMMITMENT AS A CHRISTIAN"

"I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

"My past is redeemed; my present makes sense; and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living and dwarfed goals.

"I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer and labor by power.

"My face is set, my gait fast, my goal heaven, my road narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, and my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

"I won't give up, shut up or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up and preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me - my banner will be clear!"

SERMONS

Hello. I, Pastor Frances, will be delivering today's message.

Hello everyone. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.! What a true joy and honor it is to share with you what God has given me. I pray that you are blessed by the message today and that God you are overwhelmed by the mighty power of the precious Holy Spirit. I would like to turn your attention to the scripture in 1Peter 1:7 today as that is my text. I am quoting form the King James Version. “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” (KJV)

The title of this message today is “Preserving Precious Fruit.” I know that many of you ladies, and no doubt some of you men out there today have at one time or another done some home canning or have at least tasted the result of home canned fruit.

I was given thirty pounds of pears one time and naturally I had to do something with all that fruit so it would not spoil. So, I decided to make pear butter and pear preserves, both of which I have a weakness for and I truly enjoy canning during the fall months. The task of peeling, coring and slicing this huge bag of pears began and by the time I reached the bottom of that sack my hand was cramped and I was at the point that I did not care to see another pear. I carefully placed the fruit in the kettle, added the specified amounts of sugar, spices and water, then gently boiled this concoction until the pears were tender and the perfect consistency to pour into the prepared jars. However, after the fruit is in the jars, the canning procedure is not over yet as they must be processed to protect them from spoilage and to seal them off from the harmful elements that could damage and ruin the preserved pears. With proper care and the exact amount of boiling, the jars of fruit are now capable of withstanding the destructive forces of nature that cannot penetrate the lids that were vacuum-sealed. In turn, we will enjoy several months of pear preserves because they were placed within the fire after they had been bared of the outer shell, the stony heart removed, and a perfect amount of sweetness added as they were tempered in the flame.

This analogy is about fruit which is merely temporal, yet our souls are eternal and therefore the Master Chef prepares us much like this for our infinite existence with the Father. Our lives must be properly prepared by being peeled of all the things that bind the precious fruit inside as well as the old stony heart being removed and replaced with one of flesh. Our bitterness is lovingly mollified by Father’s supreme and flawless sweetness as we are carefully and lovingly guided through the adversities of this life.

Our faith is tried as we endure distressing situations, yet we must realize that this fire is preserving us so that we might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When the flames begin to leap about you causing the water to boil and you feel representatives of the enemy’s camp assaulting you, do not despair because it is not uncommon and should not be unexpected.

Remember the words of Peter in 1Peter 4:12 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:” (KJV). The fire is simply preserving us so we can withstand the harmful components of this life and not become spoiled by its influence. Then we are suitable to sit at the Master’s table and reap the benefits of eternal life in the presence of the Father full of glory.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you today Lord for the flames of difficulty and the trying of my faith for I understand that I am being prepared and preserved for the great and wondrous appearing of my Savior Christ the Lord. I pray that you give me strength through the times that I am enduring the more painful processes of this preservation and preparation as I keep my eyes upon you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
