Reading, PA to Lake Forest, IL.

1.15 pm edt.

Rt. 419 to 78 west and eventually to 76 w, and then Ohio. The journal will begin with me taking a nap.

2.49 pm edt.

The PA Turnpike looks the same here as it does in King of Prussia and Harrisburg. I am in a weird sort of haze right now, probably due to less than three hours of sleep last night. Dan and I stopped at the Blue Mountain rest stop, which is in the middle of the state. The best thing to do is drive as fast as possible to preserve our sanity. We are traveling through the third tunnel as the DelVettes are playing.

I should go back to sleep, but I really don't have the inclination to do so. Normally I would jump at the chance for some shut-eye, but it becomes much more difficult in a car. In a car is where we are. Haha, I definitely going to sleep right now.

6.25 pm edt.

We are closing in on the Ohio border. Our goal of hitting Lake Forest by 1am is pretty much nixed for a number of reasons. Dan's final took way too long, and we had to make a few extra stops before hitting the turnpike. Everything after that was smooth until western PA where we hit a bit of construction.

While we stopped for gas in New Castle, I grabbed a newspaper to start what will probably be a rather large collection of local papers by the end of the trip. After we crossed into Ohio, I began to read the paper, eventually taking notice that it was yesterday's edition.

Besides the time and the newspaper, everything else is going well. Time is of importance right now because we want to get to Barat at a decent time.

np: The Get Up Kids "Four Minute Mile"

6.58 pm edt.

Out of sheer boredom, I have been trying to get truckers to honk their horns for me. After about five attempts, I got one to do so. Also, I was sleeping with a towel over my head, and Dan woke me up to tell me that there were a group of young Asian kids next to us. Instead of taking off the towel to look at them, I acted like I was a monster and tried to scare them. They laughed. Gosh, this is going to be a long trip.

7.49 pm edt.

We are in Ohio. Don't ask me where, because I do not know, but it is somewhere near the Indiana border. We've got just over 300 miles to Chi-town, which is good news because that means we will get to Lake Forest around 1. We are in the zone, and it is all wide open from here.
