Driver charged in hit and run

JONESVILLE — A Pennington Gap man was charged with hit and run after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle Friday night. Leonard Dietz, 25, 331 N. Kentucky St., is free on bond and was arraigned Wednesday in district court. A criminal complaint filed by Officer Chris Tabor of the Pennington Gap Police Department stated he was called to the residence of Billy Sarver on Derby Avenue and advised that Dietz was there drunk and threatening everyone. Dietz allegedly left the residence driving recklessly and struck Tabitha Freeman with his vehicle as he drove away. The warrant states Freeman walked away from the accident. (Courtesy of Times-News)
