Luciana

Owl Familar and Sage.

Backround

Luciana's early life was spent in the service of one Alazander Pencoat, a human sage of some note among human folk. She served as a familiar, and over the years she absorbed a little part of his magic. Ever an intelligent owl, Luciana soon found her mental gifts growing at an astounding rate. Even her master was amazed when one day she clearly and with distinction requested another fat rodent for breakfast.

Thereafter, she and Alazander worked together, and he taught her what he could in the ways of magic. He was a wonderful teacher, and Luciana learned almost everthing he knew of the arts of Knowledge, and even a bit of mind magic. But of his combative spells, she would have none of it. Using magic to hurt others seemed so...well...rude.

When Alazander retired to his tower for a live of luxury on the proceeds of the books and papers he had published, Lucian sadly bid her farewells to the mand who had given her soo much. There was a great deal she had yet to see and a great many secrets to unravel. As a parting gift, Alazander fave her a waistcoat, spectacles, and pocket watch. This confirmed her suspicions that Alazander, for all his wisdom, was unable to tell a male owl from a female one. But they loked so nice that she wore them anyway, and soon she was quite used to them.

Well, her journey had but barely begun when she was waylaid by an unsavory bunch of smelly religions zealots, and popped right into a bird cage, if you can imagine that! And now they are discussing dinner, of all things...
