Prayer Feathers

It is the belief of the Native Americans that
everytime you offer a prayer, your prayer
feather carries your words, thoughts, and
feelings to God in Heaven on the wings of
Eagles or Angels. Each time you look at the
Feather, your prayers are again sent in your
behalf to God in Heaven. The Feather can hang
over your door, on your wall, or beside your bed.
It is also believed that when you look at the
prayer feather it will remind you to pray.

Prayer Feathers are represented by a simple
medicine wheel with an eagle feather. To me
the cross of the medicine wheel represents
Jesus Christ. They may also be represented
by 3 feathers in a bundle,with a leather
wrapped handle.

Some prayer feathers have hand painted designs
representing the tribe.
