Native American Rainstick

Before the birth of Christ,
rainsticks were used in
ceremonial rituals by various
tribes to remind the spirits
that rain from the heavens
was welcome.

The thorns are pressed into these hollow
shafts. It is held by either
end, and tilted slightly,
small pebbles inside will
trickle down through sharp
thorns to create the sound
of falling rain from the
heavens.

Rainsticks are made from wood skeletons
of dead Quiso or Copado cactus
plants. Suitable branches
are hand-select for Rainsticks.
