sweet adeline : about us sweet adeline started in 1998 after seeing elliott play a show at the bottom of the hill in san francisco. of course the show was amazing. it is one of the days where i remember i was happy. well i began working on web sites for fun. i contacted casey from elliottsmith.com and asked if it was ok to use his info from his site to create my own elliott site. he was awesome and helped me in everyway. as a result i went looking for some other elliott fans who might be interested in creating something fun and thats where i found scott and jon. they did tabs for a site ( i think it was olga) and so i asked if they were interested in doing a few more for my elliott site. they said yes and it motivated me so much that the site was up in 2 days. originally the site did not have a name. it was basically called 'elliott smith', but after writing sweet adeline ( at the time my favorite song) for a title, people started to link my site as such and it became sweet adeline. anyway fans began to contribute in many ways. news, pics, tabs, and other stuff. practically the whole site is fan based and supported. everyone has always been kind to help out and make this a decent site. oh by the way my name is charlie. i do this from salinas, california. probably the least likely place to find any elliott fans, but i know of 5 people who do like elliott in this area, including my mom. but my hopes for the site is that i can help keep elliott fans up to date with what is going on with elliott. i getting a few more contacts, so hopefully i will continue to get on their good side so the elliott smith fans can get what they deserve and get news and maybe some other cool stuff. thanks to everyone who has helped and visited this site. i hope you enjoy it, because i love doing it and hopefully i can do more eventually. thanks xo charlie |
