S.A.L. NOTES October/November
Welcome to another edition of the S.A.L. Notes. Things ARE happening! The
new walk-in will be completed by press-time. We (the Sons) will be
intimately involved in the next big project - the painting of the bar - which is now done! The S.A.L. will again host a FREE Thanksgiving
Dinner on Thanksgiving Day for all veterans and their families, including
families of deceased veterans. Single veterans are, of course, invited. A
reservation sign-up sheet will again be available at the post or make
reservations by calling 428-2990. At the time of this writing, plans are still
in the tentative stage and depend on how much help we can get. Please
attend our next S.A.L. meeting and help us out! It (the meeting) will be held
October 6th at 7:00pm at the Post. The dinner will consist of Turkey, Ham,
and all the traditional fixings. Serving will begin at noon and end at 4pm.
Although there is no charge for the meal, donations are being accepted in the
form of cash, turkeys, hams, canned goods, desserts and volunteers. Any
profits will benefit our Children and Youth Programs. Canned goods not
used for the dinner will be donated to the Community Food Bank, as has been
the policy for years. For those of you, if any, who have internet access,
Squadron 32 has a website, designed and maintained by yours truly. The
address is: http://members.tripod.com/~pmprod/index-26.html. I have been
in touch with a lot of S.A.L. members on the internet and am making some
good friends. As far as I can determine, we are the only squadron in Arizona,
(so far), that has a website. If you can, please visit it and give me your
feedback. Hope to see you soon.
