"The answering machine for our home phone is attached to the phone upstairs. When we get home after being out and about, Too (The Other One) will use his cell phone to call the home phone to see if there are messages, rather than go upstairs to see if the thing is blinking (three rings, and there are no messages; two rings until the machine answers, and there are messages).
"I'd have never come up with the idea myself."
