. . . . .

Whose motto is this: 'All the news that's fit to wear'? Russell's?

Writes Poet X of PDX: "It was 10 years ago when I sewed leaves to an old shirt, a pair of pants and a stocking cap and went to a party as a noisy pile of leaves. ('Call me Russell' was the joke of the evening.)

"I resisted the idea of re-creating it this year and wearing it to work at the new, short-term temp job (the mess, the mess!). Instead, I draped over my head a two-page spread of newspaper with a hole big enough for my head, then draped more newspaper pages onto that. With a collage of newspaper pages in a sort of sandwich-board, and wearing a folded-newspaper hat, I was the paperboy!

"I mulled for nearly an hour, trying to think of a pun-derful name to go with the costume. At last it came to me: Herald the paperboy — of course."
