This 'n' that 'n' the other:
From Poet X of Portland:
"Separated at birth, the blind edition: It was the first thought I had back in the '90s when I heard Jamiroquai's 'Virtual Insanity': 'Somebody, tell Stevie Wonder someone made off with his voice.' Now I see this new Target commercial and have wondered since first seeing it whether it's Stevie or Jamiroquai. Tonight, for the first time, I saw a version which includes footage of Stevie in a winter coat. Thanks to the ad department for clearing that up.
"Only a ————— would notice: Watching 'Frasier' tonight, my biggest laugh was at a crucial bolt of lightning striking the Seattle backdrop. Funny, yes. Accurate, no. I didn't learn until I moved here to Portland that lightning is a very rare thrill west of the Cascades. Someone explained the meteorology of it to me once, but all I know is that it's been true in the decade I've spent here. Given its rarity, maybe that bolt in the 'Frasier' episode is all the more apt."
