Ruts
(Orniéres)
To the right, summer's dawn pokes the leaves awake - and the vapors and the rustlings in this part of the park. To the left, purple shadows hide a thousand active paths along the humid road. Pixie parade! Really: animals on wooden hooves in chariots, poles and big tents, twenty circus stallions in a great gallop, babes and men astride their rearing beasts. Twenty things to ride, festooned and flowered like coaches in a fairy tale, vessels full of kids dressed for a picnic. There are even coffins draped in darkness and brandishing ebony plumes upon which mares arrive in blue and black.
