Pokemon Overview
Poketto Monstaa is what the full Japanese name is, but the Japanese
people shorten it up and call it Pokemon. The huge fad was started in
1995 in Japan by a video game, (of course) named Pocket Monsters
made by Game Freak Inc. and Creatures Inc. The fad hasn't died down
any, and definitely shows no sign of doing so. Now they have an N64
game, a TV show, and tons of accessories! Now in Tokyo, they even
have a giant place dedicated to pokemon called Pokemon Center Tokyo
with tons of up to date info and things to buy; all about pokemon!
Pokemon History
The original release of Pocket Monsters was in the middle of 1995, around June from what I
have heard. The original releases of the game included the Red Version, the Green Version,
and the Blue Version. The three versions of Pocket Monsters are not all the same. It is the same
world with buildings in the same places, but the things different are the rarity of certain
monsters. Take for example Dogaasu (Koffing). In Green he is kind of rare, in Red he is
somewhat uncommon, but in Blue, he may not even be available! The idea was created in
planning that children would have to trade with other people that have different versions in order
to get all 151 monsters (The 151st monster, Myuu, is what you get when you get all 150).
Another interesting thing you can do is challenge your friend's monsters against yours to see
who's is the best and like mentioned before, trade. Some monsters won't even evolve their final
time unless you trade them.
