"Amapola Presents" still holds the record as the longest running Local Magazine Variety Show outside of Hollywood. Directed by Dirk Dirksen and syndicated in the West Coast, it was slotted at prime time on Saturday evenings & replayed on Sunday afternoons for five straight years.

Amapola appeared in the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco headlining an SRO concert fund-raiser for then California Governor Jerry Brown and merited a five-minute ovation and a plaque of appreciation from the Governor.

She recorded a single released by Warner/Electra/Asylum (WEA) of the Philippines) & maintained Top 10 airplay for several weeks, ultimately rising to the #2. That same year Amapola recorded a live Album during her one woman concert at the Manila Hotel - the first live in concert album recording ever produced in the Philippines.
