Judging by this 7 Inch, Mustang are the best band to come out of Tasmania since the Philistines. The title track, Champagne & Pills is a cool mixture of Ramones punk and New York Dolls glam trash, with some ever so cool backing vocals. The two tracks on the flipside, Huge Woman Reducer (which sounds like a re-write of the Dead Boy’s classic Sonic Reducer) and Can’t Get Enough rock even harder and show the influence of more recent bands like the Hellacopters. This 7 Inch just goes to show that there still are good young and up & coming Australian bands out there who remember how to play rock ‘n’ roll and sound like they enjoy it.
